How do I replace a component

I have a working PCB but I picked 1/2 watt resistors for some of them, instead of 1/4 watt resistors. It works but looks poorly when components are soldered in. How do I replace the 1/2 watt components with 1/4 watt ones on the PCB without redoing the whole layout? In DipTrace you can just select a component on the PCB, click replace, and pick the new component. This will keep the routing etc. I cannot find a similar function in EasyEDA. And of course I picked the wrong capasitor lead spacings but didn't think too much about it as I expected it to be an easy fix to do if the board worked. All help is welcome. I really don't want to redesign the PCB now that I have most components at the right place.

Your project is private so only you can see it. If you have read: [https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/How-to-ask-for-help-and-get-an-answer-71b17a40d15442349eaecbfae083e46a](https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/How-to-ask-for-help-and-get-an-answer-71b17a40d15442349eaecbfae083e46a) and followed the Design Flow in the Tutorial then go to your schematic and change the component info in the right hand panel but do not change the Footprint (Package) Attribute. Then do **Update PCB...** from the Schematic Editor or **Import Changes...** in the PCB Editor. If you select, for example, all the 1k resistors in a schematic using the **Find Similar** tool, then you can update the required information in all the afftected parts in one go. If you created your PCB without first creating it from a complete schematic then you must generate the BoM first and then edit that in a spreadsheet or text editor. Depending on the Footprints that you have chosen, they may or may not have BoM information already entered.

I think I published the project now. I want R1 and R2 to be the same size as R4. I did a schematic first. Ill give it a try. Thanks.

@JohnVoidDoe, Please post the url of the project as described in the Tutorial. "I want R1 and R2 to be the same size as R4." Not clear what you mean. Do you want to: 1) change the physical size of the components and the PCB Footprints on the PCB (which means that you will have to change the PCB design because the pins will be closer together). or: 2) change the physical size of the components but leave the PCB Footprints on the PCB unchanged (so you don't have to change the PCB design)? From your original post I think you are asking about (2). Is that correct?

Hi I am still trying to work out how to do in the first post. Everything is easy when you know how to do it. It seems I had to use the web version to be able to copy the link to the project. [https://easyeda.com/JohnVoidDoe/led-pwm-driver-v3](https://easyeda.com/JohnVoidDoe/led-pwm-driver-v3) It is option 1. The spacing between the holes for the resistor leads are way too far from each other. For the physical components/resistors I plan to use. With the caps, the holes are too close together. C1 and C2 should have had 5mm spacing to fit the caps I have. It looks like I picked the wrong ... I guess what you call the footprint. So I want to change the PCB without too much rerouting and moving stuff around.

As you see the caps I have does not fit that at all.

And the footprint for the resistors are also not correct for the 1/4 watt resisters I want to use.![IMG_0323.jpg](//image.easyeda.com/pullimage/PnXTUh5y8IH7DwBxoCeqzZqfD4vpNZdNcIprXW3K.jpeg)
