How to create a PCB with soldermask and topsilk layers but without copper?

Hello, what is the right way to generate a pcb without copper (no traces, no copper surface), just pcb, with holes, soldermask and topsilkscreen (used as mechanic adapter)? I did one in the last weeks and uploaded it but the audit failed because easyeda did not produce all layers. After some email with the jlcpcb team the pcbs I finally got were exactly like I wanted them. To avoid discussions in the future I would like to know what is the best way to create such boards directly out of easyeda? regards

For more background to this, please see this thread: [https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/PCB-ordered-to-be-Matt-Black-but-came-with-no-colour-32a72106847a43c99fc691dcfba75cbf](https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/PCB-ordered-to-be-Matt-Black-but-came-with-no-colour-32a72106847a43c99fc691dcfba75cbf)

@andyfierman Hello Andy, thank you very much for the link. I had read it when it was posted but could not find it  ... I read it again and am not sure how to create the pcb correctly out of easyeda. Do I have control about the exported layers? It looks to me like easyeda does not export the soldermask layer if there are no traces ... regards

Personally I do not know because I have not had to test this route. I would suggest that you contact both EasyEDA and JLCPCB support directly to ask them to define a step-by-step procedure.

Couldn't you put a bit of copper around the holes ?   It's probably an automated pre-production check to make sure some layers in the Gerber haven't gone AWOL.  Or just put a message on the order saying there are no copper layers in the Gerber so do not worry.

@MikeDB Yes, I think it is some kind of pre-production check. Will try out some more combinations of tools and layers :-)

How about copying some of the silkscreen content onto the copper layer and then reducing the widths so that it is completely covered by the silkscreen. Then you have a layer with copper on it.

Or just put all the copper on both layers as I do when making front panels ?

@MikeDB In this case I wanted to have no copper because it should not block any wifi signals from an esp32 which is mounted close to it.

@MiniMax Ah fair enough.    Explaining in the comments that the copper layers are deliberately missing is your best bet then
