Here are two ways to fill the gaps. The spokes are at 90 degrees intervals so the gaps between them are at 45, 135, 225 and 315 degrees. The gaps have an inner and an outer radius. Call these Rin and Rout. **Using tracks.** 1. Draw a short track, assigned to the same net as the copper area and the pad, from the hole centre out to just beyond the outer radius of the gaps in the copper area at each of the 45, 135, 225 and 315 degree intervals. 2. Make the tracks a little wider than the maximum width of the gaps. OR, simpler: **Using the Circle tool** 1. Draw a circle in copper with a radius of about (Rin + Rout)/2 and a width of a bit more than (Rout - Rin). 2. Assign it to the same net as the copper area and the pad.  3. Place it over the centre of the pad. The gaps are now filled and do not reappear after rebuilding the copper area (SHIFT+B). :)
