HowTo remove individual component from the SilkLayer

Is there a way to remove a single component from the SilkLayer. In a previous project I moved the unwanted components to the BottomSilkLayer and made that invisible (not print). This time I need both SilkLayers but don't want to print certain component outlines. Alternatively, I want to hide part of the silk outline. For example if I put a 1x6 Male Header, I don't want to print the outline (rectangle) but I do want to display the name/prefix. Can this be done ?

There are a couple of ways to do this. The *easiest* to do this is to select the package on your PCB then click on the `Group/Ungroup` button on the floating `PCBTools` palette: ![enter image description here][1] Then delete just the outline. * Note that this sort of change will be overwritten if you do an `Update PCB...` or `Import Changes...` action. The *safest* way to do this is to create your own modified packages by copying the original one and deleting the outline then saving it under a unique name with a clear description of the purpose of the package. Next edit the package assigned to the Symbol in your Schematic that calls up the particular package in the PCB. Then do an `Update PCB...` or `Import Changes...` action.
