Type `T` or click on the **T** button in the Drawing Tools palette; The `Text` placeholder appears attached to the crosshair; Left-click on the canvas to place the Text placeholder (Consecutive left-clicks will place multiple instances); Right-click to exit text placeholder mode; Double click on `Text` placeholder; Edit text.
