How to save Private schematic symbols and PCB parts?

Have I missed something about **My Parts**? Any part that a user creates or imports is saved into **My Parts**. From there is appears in a **Find Libraries...** search under **User Libs**. - What if a user wants to create a part but they do not want it to be made public? For example because they are working on a commercial project? Can they do that?

Yes, Group it as schematic lib in the schematic canvas. <>

OK, a bit clunky but it works. :)

I was trying to read this, but the link no longer works. How can I make Private schematic and PCB parts libraries that I can share selectively with collaborators? Thanks, Vikas

All schematic symbols and PCB footprints that you create are saved to your **MyParts** library and from there they automatically appear in any Search and Shift+F library searches. Contributing high quality symobols and footprints is one way our users can earn more private project space free of charge. To save parts privately, you can: 1. create and save schematic symbols directly in a schematic sheet. To do this you can use the **Symbol Wizard...** (in the top toolbar): ><> or you can create them from scratch: ><> 2. create and save PCB footprints directly in a PCB sheet using Group/Ungroup; ><> Save your sheet libraries into a **Private** project but do not put any other working files into that project. To share these sheets with other people: ><> :)
