Incomplete Connection

Hello, I replace some parts on my PCB with another Model. I put it exactly in the same place. The new part has Exactly the same Spec. When I Check the DRC for error, I get an Incomplete connection. I have no Idea What steps I can follow to help diagnose the problem. Visually the resistor(u7) is exactly at the same place as the old one. But it does not connect. Any Ideas? ![Screen Shot 2023-04-10 at 6.16.58 PM.png](//image.easyeda.com/pullimage/Da5a1Zszy8bLCQ3fZ6bR84VKV2CsI3JAEgSkxAr3.png)

Look at the information about Nets and run the DRC in the Design Manager in the PCB Editor. This will tell you what is going on. Your project is private so only you can see it. At a guess, the problem may be that you have replaced the Footprint directly in the PCB instead of doing it the correct way by replacing the part in the schematic and then doing Update PCB... as explained in the Tutorial.

I was afraid of that. Ok, so my only solution is to un route it all and route it again. I have another question: How do I define the size of a 12v wire as opposed to a 3.3v or 5v? I would like the routing to assign a bigger size wire to 12V when auto-routing. Is this possible?

"...my only solution is to un route it all and route it again." Why? Did I say you had to do that? If you started this project following the Design Flow described in the Tutorial then you should be able to replace the symbol in the schematic and then do Update PCB... from the Schematic Editor or Import Changes... in the PCB Editor. If you created the PCB directly in the PCB Editor without a schematic then you probably just need to edit the net names assigned to the pads of the replaced Footprint to match those of the nets they should be connected to. To route different width traces they have to be defined in the Design Rules first. It may help you to read and follow the links to the other documents pointed to in: [https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/How-to-ask-for-help-and-get-an-answer-71b17a40d15442349eaecbfae083e46a](https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/How-to-ask-for-help-and-get-an-answer-71b17a40d15442349eaecbfae083e46a)

Using the design Rules I Define the 12v wiring. I did the auto-routing and that solved all my issues. I read that for the 12v I should use 1oz on my PCB. If I design my 12v wiring to be 1mm wide, Should I take the 1oz copper when I order the PCB?

There is no need for guesswork in setting track widths and clearances. Have a look at the tools linked to in: PCB DESIGN OF ELECTRONIC CIRCUITS near the bottom of the page in: [smps.us](smps.us)

See also: [https://github.com/dmwatson/easyeda-pcbtools](https://github.com/dmwatson/easyeda-pcbtools)

The use of the EasyEDA extension is described here: [https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/Extension-User-Extensions-for-EasyEDA-Summary-9e065b68316f4491a3911dc6204be31e](https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/Extension-User-Extensions-for-EasyEDA-Summary-9e065b68316f4491a3911dc6204be31e)

I also recommend changing component prefix from Ux to Rx when it comes to resistors. One question to EasyEDA support: Why are you putting U as a default component prefix for resistors and capacitors? Resistors should be R and capacitors should be C. Prefix U is dedicated to chips and subcircuits. Just as an fyi.... Regards, Markus Virtanen HW / Electronics Designer

I also noted that top layer trace widths are wide and then it changes as 10mil inside the inner layers? Thats a big no no, especially when they are power and ground traces. -Markus
