We have been having difficulty manually routing a track between two pads of a 2mm pitch connector even when we set a rule for the net in DRC which should easily allow it to pass through.
In our example the rule (My_Rule) is applied to Net G0 for a minimum track width (0.1mm) and clearance (0.1mm).
The pad size of the connector is 1.524mm leaving 0.476mm of space to run a track in-between. A 0.1mm track should easily fit without violating the DRC clearance.
What we see during the manual route (see below) is a track width representative of a 0.1mm track and its associated boundary, however, we are prevented from passing the track through.
If we edit the DRC Default Rule (which is not associated with Net G0) and reduce the clearance to 0.1mm (was set at 0.152mm) we can then pass the track between the pads.
It looks like DRC is not applying the clearance setting properly for the particular rule assigned to the net.
Q. Are we using the custom rules setting of DRC correctly or does it need to be refreshed somehow to ensure new (or modified rules) are applied ?
