**Feature Request** Brief title for your desired feature: Place part designator in or on component. Minor feature. How would you like the feature to work? Have the part designator more or less centered on the PCB part when PCB is initially created. Why is this feature important to you? Of course, the designator will probably still have to be moved/rotated several times during layout, but at least initially, the designator would be somewhat out of the way at the outset. Not a biggie, but something to consider. It would appear that doing this would be a minor issue for your programmer, but would potentially mitigate the need to do this for each part while first placing.
