Insert image - unmodified

Hello, When inserting an image (PNG/JPG/SVG) the settings mess up with the image. I am making the image to precisely match the size of the board, so I won't have trouble placing it. All I want is to put the image as is in the appropriate layer. My board is 10X20, and so my image is also the same size. Is this possible to place it unmodified? Below you can see a test I just ran. I also tried playing with the settings and putting them all the way to 0, but the result is still messed up. Thanks! ![image.png](//image.easyeda.com/pullimage/brWiDPx4wWtsMWaEwwZUxFkKyR0m86xzUYrdK2F2.png)

You can try making your original image oversized, import it then scale it down in the Import image tool. "My board is 10X20" What units?

You have not said which layer you wish to put this image on but bear in mind that your image is being converted to a simple binary monochrome image and there are minimum feature sizes in both copper and silk screen: [https://jlcpcb.com/capabilities/Capabilities](https://jlcpcb.com/capabilities/Capabilities)

Hey Andy, thanks for the super quick response! It's 10cm X 20cm The size is not smaller than the size of the fonts used, so there shouldn't be a problem with print. I'm familiar with jlc capabilities. I tried making the image larger, but the settings still mess it up. There is no "default" that won't modify the image at all. Is there perhaps a file format that won't get modified?

"I tried making the image larger, but the settings still mess it up." How much larger? x10, x100? "There is no "default" that won't modify the image at all." Correct. "Is there perhaps a file format that won't get modified?" Try converting it to DXF?

If your source file is SVG, I suggest you have a look at this extension: [https://github.com/xsrf/easyeda-svg-import](https://github.com/xsrf/easyeda-svg-import) It won't mess up the SVG during import. Let me know if you need help.

@andreasbernhofer that looks promising! I'll give it a try and report back. Thanks so much!

@andreasbernhofer it didn't work (yet). Below are the SVGs I'm trying to import. @andyfiermando I'm (very) new to this. Do you know where can I read about EDA limitations and workflows? Why EDA programs have these weird image import hurdles? Coming from Adobe here, and I understand this is very different. But still, we're talking about silk screening after all. Thanks

@roeyt, I suspect that part of the problem is the way everything gets onto the PCB via Gerber files which are not an ideal format for general graphical content. Sorry but I'm not the right person to answer your questions. You could try contacting [support@easyeda.com](mailto:support@easyeda.com) directly. They may be able to help and may be able to explain more about the issues. Please bear in mind that english may not be their first language so keep the conversation clear and in simple terms for clarity. :)

@roeyt thx for providing the files. I already found the NaN issue is within the "a" of the logo. I'll have a look and fix the issue asap.

@roeyt I've fixed your logo for now (Download [https://github.com/xsrf/easyeda-svg-import/files/6448256/synthux_logo.zip](https://github.com/xsrf/easyeda-svg-import/files/6448256/synthux_logo.zip) ) so it does import with my extension. The underlying issue will be fixed in my extension soon. I'm tracking the issue here: [https://github.com/xsrf/easyeda-svg-import/issues/17](https://github.com/xsrf/easyeda-svg-import/issues/17)

Regarding the graphic... How do you want it to actually look like on the PCB? do you want the grey parts to be copper/silkscreen? It's not really obvious to me ;)

@roeyt a fixed version (v.18) of my extension is now available. It should import your original logo just fine. For the graphic: Please read the readme on github. You have to convert your shapes to paths. The readme contains instructions vor Inkscape but you can probably do this as part of your workflow in your design tool. However, there will still be issues due to the overlapping shapes in the graphic. The overlapping shapes will be imported without their outline color (because silkscreen has no color) and thus the result will not look like what you expect. There are solutions to this, but I don't really understand how you want the pcb to look like...
