I am designing a circuit that has a sensitive analog portion, and therefore requires a separate ground from the digital portion. The two grounds need to be joined in the PCB at a single area under the chip. I do not want to merge the two nets, but want to connect them physically with a copper rectangle nevertheless. Is there a way to do this without merging the two nets?
Thanks,
Scott
I figured out how. Instead of trying to join the two pours with a single rectangle without a net, I created two overlapping rectangles, each one assigned to the net of the corresponding pour. The two pours then overlap as desired and Easycad simply throws a design rule error. Problem solved.
