Merging of nets during routing warning message

**BUG** When you accidentally merge two nets when routing you get a warning/confirmation message about merging two nets, when you press cancel it still lays the trace and merges the nets. Expected results: The expected result if you press cancel should be that the track does not get laid. Also this box would be more correct as Yes/No not Yes/Cancel Browser: Google chrome Cheers

Hi, > still lays the trace and merges the nets No, EasyEDA didn't merge, you will find they are different nets. But EasyEDA should not route that track when click the Cancel. We will keep this as feature, not Bug. Thanks. When you run a DRC, you will find this matter. >> Yes/No not Yes/Cancel You are right, Yes/No is better, but it seems we can't find a way to change these. The Chrome show that.

This site is brand new to me. What does it mean to merge nets? I'm just trying to connect two pads. Also, there is a button to "connect pad to pad". What does that do, and how does that compare to creating a track? What's the difference between a via and a pad? Thanks for the help, Don

Hi Don, Welcome to EasyEDA. As a point of forum etiquette I should explain that it would have been better if you had posted your questions in a new post in the `Ask for Help About PCB Layout` section rather than in reply to a 2 year old Bug Report. :) The issue of merging nets is because under some conditions - usually when building a PCB without a schematic but please see: https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/The_best_way_to_design_a_PCB_in_EasyEDA-ThR3pwqIC for why this is not a good idea - drawing a track and then drawing another track which joins onto it, can result in the two tracks being assigned different net names. So then, when you click on a track to select it and then type `H` (a Hotkey) to highlight it, only one section of it lights up and not the complete track. At some point, a new version of EasyEDA should be correct this behaviour and the individual sections will be merged so that the whole track lights up as expected. To answer your other questions, I have put a post in the `Tips and Skill` section: https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/How_does_the_Connect_Pad_to_Pad_tool_work_-JgQO0Ay7H If you have more questions please start a new thread in the appropriate section. Thanks.
