When a solder pad is created on one side of the board, in the attributes, there should be a selection to duplicate it on the opposite side of the board. I some cases, it may be finger traces to slide into another board, an duplicating the trace on one side to the other only makes sense. In my case, the pads I create are to solder wires to the board, and having the pad on both sides makes it easy to get a good solder connection.
