You need to use EasyEDA editor to create some projects before publishing
Projects missing

Hi, I use easy eda on a windows 10 platform.  I have not used it for over two months, and now many of my previous projects are missing.  I can still find the last 3 that I looked at, but all the others are missing.  I managed to get one of the old projects when I went hunting in the personal projects stuff, something I never had to do before.  This did not update the "opened Projects" list on the left. Also, the printing of a schematic does not work as it used to. I guess I did not get the memo on all the changes that have happened in the last 2 months?        Keith

I was not looking for a "memo", I was looking for an explantation as to why the project management was changed AND why printing seems to be messed up.

BTW, I am using the Windows app that you install, not the browser.

You said: "...now many of my previous projects are missing.  I can still find the last 3 that I looked at, but all the others are missing.  I managed to get one of the old projects...  This did not update the "opened Projects" list on the left. I guess I did not get the memo on all the changes that have happened in the last 2 months?" Sorry but I read that as asking for information about how the project management works after a recent update and not as a request for an explanation of why it has changed. The links I posted point to detailed information about how to use the new project management scheme in both the web-based and Desktop Client versions of EasyEDA. I do not know the decisions that were made to change the project management scheme. I have not yet made the time to check out your issue with printing.

Andy, The link that you gave me burried me in details that were not all useful.  I did not see the one thing that answered the question, just a blast of details that mostly had nothing to do with my issue.

Have you tried taking the steps in the Tutorial: [https://docs.easyeda.com/en/Introduction/Create-A-New-Project-or-File/index.html#Open-Project](https://docs.easyeda.com/en/Introduction/Create-A-New-Project-or-File/index.html#Open-Project) and in the topic I pointed you to? If so what were the results of those steps? If they do not resolve your problem of being able to open projects then perhaps you could post some screenshots or other information to illustrate your issue? A description or an animated gif of the steps you take when trying to open projects would be more helpful. It might show how what you are doing differs from the steps in the Tutorial. Pictures of the results of attempting to Print to PDF and comparing that with Export > PDF... would also be helpful. "BTW, I am using the Windows app that you install, not the browser." You have not said whether you are using the Desktop Client in Team Work mode or in Projects Offline mode: [https://docs.easyeda.com/en/FAQ/Client/index.html](https://docs.easyeda.com/en/FAQ/Client/index.html)

Andy, I looked at it at first, and it was no help.  The problem is that when you bring up the open project dialog, it does NOT show any of your projects.   I first tried to click OK and it complained that I did not chose a project.  I eventualy learned that if you click on the right caret by my user name, it shows my old projects, and when you open them, they end up on the left hand project list. Obviously, I like the old way better, but at least I understand the new one now. My problem with printing is that now it takes multiple pages and does not allow me to scale it to just one page.  It seems like it used to automaticly scale it to one page.    Keith

As requested above, are you using the Desktop Client in Team Work mode or Projects Offline mode?

Andy, It seems as if I am in Personal Workspace mode.  I think that my projects are saved on the web site even though I am using the windows app.  I would guess that I am not in any offline mode although, who can tell.  Is there an easy way to check?    Keith

@kwilke61, * This is how to open files in the Editor in **any** version of EasyEDA, web-based or Desktop in Team Work or Projects Offline modes. **To open files in the Editor: ** ![image.png](https://image.easyeda.com/pullimage/g6uKctodOgDr3V2amXVOJT5jsoTzxCHVoyhFSc7l.png) or: ![image.png](https://image.easyeda.com/pullimage/8OqiKTsP6pu7K50zw6rvhxp2J0fTEZrUHMhtG42p.png) or: ![image.png](https://image.easyeda.com/pullimage/PWyXEs2AhW3WUieAbEzyJ4hUStbBwyBZ6zFXGEWH.png) Opening a project using any of these options will then open a list of projects like this for the online version or the **Desktop Client** used in **Team Work** Mode: ![image.png](https://image.easyeda.com/pullimage/1SXjlQAdLqnfreTt4XkU9vvHkMU3G689ce7EI03W.png) or this for the **Desktop Client** in **Projects Offline** Mode: ![image.png](https://image.easyeda.com/pullimage/wKdTpLyUCkhcUZ3MCqnE5tVkNzpzThCKKw4wPQD2.png) and in **Projects Offline** mode you can then open the directory where your projects are stored either by: ![image.png](https://image.easyeda.com/pullimage/sl9MOgox91bCMW2hMVJ8Nvq3n7fI73XOj7ncVjJg.png) or: ![image.png](https://image.easyeda.com/pullimage/MRj2CnXZ4CjHB6tD7DnH24EMGaReaBkHKJIv0Ko4.png) which will open the directory where your projects are stored: ![image.png](https://image.easyeda.com/pullimage/1QIMTx78fBsLN5mGP2YOZLG878XdHwPaMfVvH6df.png) **Where the Projects are stored:** * If you are using the web based version then your files are where they will always have been. * If you are using the downloadable Desktop Client in Team Work Mode then your files are where they will always have been. * If you are using the downloadable Desktop Client in Projects Offline Mode then your files are stored locally on your PC.. **What are Team Work Mode or Projects Offline Mode and h****ow to set them up in the downloadable Desktop Client? ** If you are using the downloadable Desktop Client then this page shows you how to find out and set up whether you are running your Desktop Client in Team Work or Projects offline mode: [https://docs.easyeda.com/en/FAQ/Client/index.html#Client-Running-Mode](https://docs.easyeda.com/en/FAQ/Client/index.html#Client-Running-Mode) **If you use the Desktop client in Team Work Mode then:** 1. you can use either the Desktop or the online versions and; 2. your files are saved to and available from the cloud and; 3. all your backups, versioning and history/recovery is available; 4. you access them the same way in either Desktop or online versions; 5. if the web version slows down due to too much traffic then you can swap to the desktop version and run a bit faster but still have all your files in sync. **If you use the Desktop client in Projects Offline Mode then:** 1. your files are stored on your machine so they can be thought of as being more secure (but that of course depends on how secure your machine actually is) but; 2. you are responsible for saving, recovering and backing up your work; 3. you can only access your files through that PC. * It is up to you to decide which way of working suits you best. If you use the **Projects Offline** mode, the section on **Data Saving Directory** tells you where your files are stored. To copy them somewhere else then all you do is copy and paste the path to your files into you file manager and then open that location, copy and paste the files to a different directory.
