Good morning from Kabul!
Yes, Kabul, Afghanistan (I work at the Embassy). Anyway, in my down time I am teaching myself coding for Arduino and circuit design for the Arduino project. In a nutshell, I am going to be using vehicle power (car battery) to power a circuit board via voltage regulator and will be moving the 12vdc thru some TI automotive load switch ICs. What I do not want to happen is the wires (trace lines) to act as a fuse because they are too thin/small. EasyEDA defaults to 0.01" (0.254mm) traces. I plan to power the radio, headlights and interior lights with this circuit.
Using the JLCPCB defaults for PCB fabrication (1.6mm board, 1oz copper, HASL, etc.) and an Optima Yellow Top H6 Batteries 9048-148, what trace thickness is recommended? I am sure there is some formula to figure this out but I do not know.
TIA!
