Reviewing my circuits :-)

Hi, Would it be ok if you reviewed my circuit. My circuit is connected to 5v and has atmega328p controlling two max7219s to control two led matrixes. Thanks :-)![Screen Shot 2019-01-19 at 21.54.18.png](//image.easyeda.com/pullimage/Okd0TtGYh2ZQkVNF2bR2XKo6dMoulCV5x9qiaxTI.png)![Screen Shot 2019-01-19 at 21.54.42.png](//image.easyeda.com/pullimage/hLQl4KnWeQ5UFsCfyu5H14LyJvmGp2KRA11jbb0L.png) x2

You asked for a schematic review in this post: [https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/Schematic-Review-26564d2fd06041ba8c96b85ac250a03f](https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/Schematic-Review-26564d2fd06041ba8c96b85ac250a03f) but you appear to have not added any power supply decoupling on the 5V rail. You also have not said why you need to use a crystal instead of a simpler free-running clock for the ATMEGA328P as was suggested in the response to your earlier post. The schematic you have posted in this post does not include the input supply and a second array of LEDs which was shown in your original post so you are asking for a review of an incomplete schematic. This will not result in a particularly reliable review. SW1 is a change to the original circuit and it's purpose is not explained so it is difficult to say anything about the implementation, i.e. if it needs some form of debouncing. For a meaningful review, you should supply a circuit description and a full circuit schematic.

Hi, i'm sorry for not explaining fully. I have not removed the crystal as pretty much all tutorials use it and I thought it would be easier for my first schematic. I have not included the power supply decoupling as I didn't know which capacitor to use. Please could you advise me on what value of capacitor to use? I have not included the second array of LEDs as I thought you wouldn't need them as they are very similar but I have included it in this one. The purpose of SW1 is to remove the HC05 for added simplicity and instead store a few patterns on the atmega328p. For the power supply I was going to use a widely available TP4056 board ([https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Micro-USB-TP4056-li-ion-li-po-lipo-Battery-Charger-Module-Discharge-Protection/272986428636?hash=item3f8f4254dc:m:mZvOYFXrR8CXcgPDwxGjHyg:rk:2:pf:1](https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Micro-USB-TP4056-li-ion-li-po-lipo-Battery-Charger-Module-Discharge-Protection/272986428636?hash=item3f8f4254dc:m:mZvOYFXrR8CXcgPDwxGjHyg:rk:2:pf:1)) and a popular 5v usb boost circuit ([https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/USB-5V-DC-Boost-Step-up-Power-Supply-Module-DC-DC-0-9V-5V-E50P/232690078710?hash=item362d68d3f6:g:hfQAAOSw6CJbCwJM:rk:2:pf:1](https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/USB-5V-DC-Boost-Step-up-Power-Supply-Module-DC-DC-0-9V-5V-E50P/232690078710?hash=item362d68d3f6:g:hfQAAOSw6CJbCwJM:rk:2:pf:1)). Sorry for any inconvenience.![Screen Shot 2019-01-19 at 21.54.49.png](//image.easyeda.com/pullimage/if1Edc912qBAldwSG5RvRvHrI1WkPusaRqkZGVu5.png)

You're now asking people to do a schematic review of several different schematics that are unconnected and are on several different websites. This is not fair of you as it is wasting other people's time. If you want a meaningful schematic review then please put the effort in at your end and construct a complete (to the best of your abilities, including defined part numbers with suppliers stock numbers) schematic and submit it with a specification of input voltages and acceptable tolerances and current drains, any electrical outputs, any mechanical constraints, a description of what it is intended to do and a how it works description. Include notes on things you would like help on and why. Annotate the schematic as necessary. If possible, make a public copy of your project available for review. :)

I'm sorry for not making it clear but I want to use other circuits that can step-up a li-ion battery to a constant 5v. I do not want you to review them as I think they will be sufficient at creating a creating a constant 5v. I'm sorry but I am not very experienced in electronics and when I searched up current drain all I could find was the efficiency of FET, so I don't know what you want me to tell you. I have made the project public, here is [the schematic](https://easyeda.com/account/project?project=c57bda7640be40598631210ae7084324).

@IsaacEmery, Sorry but your project is not public so only you can see it. Just because you are using circuits from other sources that are reported to "work" does not guarantee that they will work satisfactorily with your circuit. Therefore it is important that you present the whole of any circuit that you want anyone to review and provide as much information as possible in support that circuit and the components in it. You are asking for an informal schematic review but if this is important and it is to be of any real use to you then you should think of it in a much more formal way and try to treat it like a professional review. To give you some idea of what would be involved in a professional design review, you might like to read this: [https://docs\.google\.com/document/d/e/2PACX\-1vRhMMBzCZ\_orIFr56QyqYI8HcWsFA00evgh1cQ\_069MJRU2YUJXGWzyX3mMVnxT\-SNz1mydEicu6Bfh/pub](https://docs.google.com/document/d/e/2PACX-1vRhMMBzCZ_orIFr56QyqYI8HcWsFA00evgh1cQ_069MJRU2YUJXGWzyX3mMVnxT-SNz1mydEicu6Bfh/pub)
