You want to "Save As" a schematic into the same project from which it came but when searching "Existing Projects" the project cannot be found and does not appear in the list of available projects in the "Save as a schematic" window even though it is obviously there and has already been opened.  What is wrong? You have to use the "Clone" menu option to copy a schematic (or PCB) under a new name into the same Project:
