Silk screen removal for hand add of solder

On order number 9RnhzQ82k I had left instructions in the order, as well as notes on the documentation layer to leave the silk screen off on a larger power trace so I could add more solder by hand, however this wasn't done. I'm very impressed by everything else, and for my project I'll just add some wire instead so no big deal as everything else was impeccable. But I'm wondering for future projects what I should do to ensure that the silk screen is not added in some places so I hand add solder

Did you mean the white **silkscreen** or the (default colour of) green **solder mask**? If you asked for the **silkscreen** to be omitted then you would have a PCB with now white text on it. To have copper exposed in some areas then you have to ask for **solder mask** to be omitted. Better still, edit the solder mask layer to cut out the solder mask in areas you want to leave exposed. Then the board will be made exactly as defined by your Gerbers.
