Solder resist

Hi, Is it possible to leave some areas such as the edges of my ground plane on the bottom of a pcb free of solder resist so that I can solder a screen around the board?  I see the bottomSolderMaskLayer but it doe not show anything.  Is this only created with the Gerbers or is there another way? Kind regards Phil zl3pah

EasyEDA automatically generates the solder mask. The Solder Mask layer is to allow you to add extra areas free of solder mask by hand, which is exactly what you want to do. :) Check it before submitting the PCB design for manufacturing using gerbv, the free and open source Gerber viewer.
