You need to use EasyEDA editor to create some projects before publishing
Start a project from gerber files

I have gerber fiels from another schematic capture software (old orcad) that I want to edit in easyEDA. I managed to upload it in the PCB order section so I can order PCBs. However I would like to make a few small changes to the old design. Is it possible to start a new progect based on imported gerber files. If yes, how do I do it ? Thanks

At present there is no easy way to reverse engineer Gerber files back into EasyEDA PCB files. Here are a couple of suggestions: * If your changes are small you may be able to do them using a Gerber file editor. There are several free tools available and if your changes are small enough you may be able to do the changes within the free trial period of some of the commercial offerings. * Another possibility is to find a gerber viewer such as the Free and Open Source Software gerbv: http://gerbv.geda-project.org/ that can export the Gerber layers in .SVG format. Then convert those .SVG files into .DXF format and then use the EasyEDA **Import DXF** tool to import them as one layer at a time into separate EasyEDA PCB Editor tabs. This will get you several separate PCB files of a single layer each. I have not tried this but I think you can then set each separate layer to their respective layers in the final reconstructed PCB and then simply copy and paste them into a New PCB. * There are two problems I can see with this. 1. The imported DXF files may represent only the outlines of the tracks and not the fill so the layers you have in EasyEDA will show these outlines as tracks surrounding voids and not as actual solid track areas. I do not know of a quick way to fix this; 2. You have to accurately align the layers in the reconstructed PCB. It would be wise therefore to add fiducials (alignment marks: two per layer) in the Gerber ecitor before you export the layers. * You could try this technique by cloning or creating a simple PCB in EasyEDA and then downloading the Gerbers for it and going through this process to see what happens.
