Uh oh- air wires being added despite ground plane?

1. Create a PCB layout 2. Add a ground plane (copper pour + GND) 3. Hit rebuild copper area -> All air wires that were GND disappear : GOOD! 4. Move a part that has a GND pad -> Verify that air wires are added back for GND pads! If it's not a user error (might very well be), then I'd consider this a very serious bug. It makes it really, really difficult to properly create a layout.

By "air wires", do you mean the pale grey/white ratlines indicating un-routed nets? I just tried moving D2 (which has one end at ground in a flood) on a copy of: https://easyeda.com/file_view_Astable-Multivibrator_YBvpHBTbt.htm in: https://easyeda.com/project_view_First-project_cMGzRL3lf.htm but didn't see any ratlines appearing (aside from those already there between the unrouted grounded shielding pins of connector X1). I was trying this on Chrome Version 35.0.1916.153 and Firefox 30.0 on Kubuntu 12.04 LTS. What browser/OS/version of EasyEDA are you on? (Just updated again today to 1.6.3).

Hi Dillon, sure, I've rebuilt the copper area after moving, but I shouldn't have to do so for every part I move... Andy, I've tried the multivibrator circuit, seems to check out. However, try just moving a capacitor, for example, in this circuit: https://easyeda.com/editor#id=jbjcuM4mg|ymgysK1jd|di64gQOnX|Zb5ZhzR8q

>but I shouldn't have to do so for every part I move... Buit copper area is very very slow. If EasyEDA try to build copper area real time, you will be angry with the slow. Most time, the users will built the copper area at the last.

Hey Dillon, we must be talking about two different things. The PCB I linked in behaves differently from others. I understand the ground plane can't be rebuilt constantly, but ratlines shouldn't appear for ground connections when moving a part. First time I see it happen in EasyEDA, and it looks like possibly only in this circuit.

Hmmmm. Playing with: <https://easyeda.com/editor#id=jbjcuM4mg|ymgysK1jd|di64gQOnX|Zb5ZhzR8q> in Anonymous Mode, I don't get any ratlines If I move any component with a pin in the Layer 1 ground flood. (At least not in Chrome on W7 Pro). However, there is something strange: If I make the copper area on layer 1 visible, it covers the Top Silk layer. The Layer 1 tracks do not cover the silkscreen, only the flood.

Hi Martin, Maybe I miss something. I can't reproduce this bug, because I moved any parts, then rebuild the Copper area, the air wires are gone. BTW, when I opened U designs, I just can seet the two PCBs like bellow, It seems your other files are not Public. ![Alt text](/edaImg/cms/1403179322_Martin.png) Can u try to give me picutre? Thanks.

Hey Dillon, well, I've gone back to it and the bad behaviour is no longer reproducible. Not sure why, but the end result is the same: it now works correctly!

Hey there, long time no speak! Glad to be back around, hopefully I will have a bit more time on my hands. I am having this problem again. I have a ground pour (GND), pads on GND net, and I see airwires. See image. http://imgur.com/OTw5kmy Circuit in progress here : https://easyeda.com/editor#id=zYSM4mgWQ|vRmEWQ8qI

Hi Dillon, it does look ok on yours. But on Chrome on my Mac, there is an air wire between the two thermal pads to the middle-right.

The new version is 1.9.1.

Hi Martin, EasyEDA should automatically update itself to the latest version but it is possible that your version of Chrome may be the cause of the difference in Dillon's and your displays. Two questions: i) What version of Chrome are you using? ii) Have you tried this in a different browser?
