Many times names of traces will not change and today I can rename a pad to "GND" but "Rebuild Copper Area" does not "Ground" that pad on any of the four layers.
I "Placed" a new footprint and that same pin will NOT "GROUND".
I have saved and closed, shut down the app and still no "Ground" on that pad.
All the pads on that footp[rint are identical. Others ground, but not this one.
