After some experimentation I have traced it to a transisor (LCSC# C460099). If it is present in the design, exporting BOM always fails. Remove it - things work again. Set "Add to BOM" to no - also works. I have tried removing individual property lines of that part, hoping that one of them triggers the failure, alas no success here.

The problem is caused by getSmtPartInfo API query for component C460099 returning no "stock_num" attribute, while the code in function sch-main.js:passBomCsv() expects it to always be present.
