Hi,
I am trying to design a very simple PCB, I'm very much a learner for Easy EDA and PCB design in general. I basically have a question regarding solder mask. In the 3D view here:

There are a few colours, as I understand them:
Blue: Solder mask
Light Yellow: Also Solder mask, but solder mask at the edge of a pad - I don't really understand why this would have a different colour? If I remove the 'solder mask' on a pad, this light yellow are disappears, so I concluded from this it is solder mask - but then the top pad doesn't make sense...
Dark yellow/gold: Exposed pad
You might have guessed the problem I have, and thats that when I connect two of these exposed pads the light yellow area seems to make its way into the pad - the two pads at the top are connected with a copper area:

The PCB isn't finished by any means, I just wanted to understand what I'm seeing, why the larger top pad seems to fill in with what I thought was solder mask, and for some reason the edge of this pad still shows gold/dark yellow.
Am. just seeing a bit of a bug or is this behaviour expected?
