If I change the footprint of a component on the circuit diagram how do I update the footprint on the PCB which has the components already placed.

Hi,
remove the Footprint from your PCB, then click the import change button.
Check https://easyeda.com/Doc/Tutorial/PCB.htm#ImportChanges out for import change.
