Using:

**   Double-left-click**

to open a text field for editing, then:

**   Ctrl+Enter**

usually works to create a new line except when trying to insert a new line into an existing line of text.

The text box displays that a new line has been inserted but when pressing Enter or clicking outside the box to close it and register the changes, the new line is ignored and the text is unchanged.

• A more reliable sequence which might also work for OS X users is:

**   Double-left-click**

to open a text field for editing, then:

Space

then:

**   Ctrl+Enter**
