Using: **   Double-left-click** to open a text field for editing, then: **   Ctrl+Enter** usually works to create a new line _except_ when trying to insert a new line into an existing line of text. The text box displays that a new line has been inserted but when pressing Enter or clicking outside the box to close it and register the changes, the new line is ignored and the text is unchanged. * A more reliable sequence **_which might also work for OS X users_** is: **   Double-left-click** to open a text field for editing, then:    **Space** then: **   Ctrl+Enter**
