Using copper area to connect components

I'm using a copper area to create a very large trace between two components. I've got the copper area outline and I've edited the points to be sure it's closed. If I rebuild it seems to complete. The Net is correct. My problem is that this copper area won't fill. The top layer copper that includes this new copper area doesn't pour around it, it covers it like it doesn't know it's there. DRC check shows there's no connection between the 2 components. Am I trying to something that's not allowed, or am I doing something wrong? Thanks Doug ![Untitled 9.png](//image.easyeda.com/pullimage/dwuK2dMz6Ql6qN6oluyfjxWqzljnvIME9Pt3UVBt.png)![Untitled 8.png](//image.easyeda.com/pullimage/VBulSt7LPQQakzESzczn3H2D8i4uSGrVN0LdNBD7.png)

Sorry but you have not given enough information. Your net names are not visible. No prefixes are visible. No screenshots of the Design Manager panel. You have posted no link to this project. Are all 4 pins and the copper area that you are trying to connect together all on the same U4_1 net? Are you getting warnings that the copper area is inside another? What happens if you convert/replace the connecting area with a Solid Region?

Go to copper Area MAnager under settings and change order of the two areas

I consider this a Bug: [https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/Create-copper-area-inside-another-inner-first-is-OK-but-outer-first-fails-with-no-warnings-0506e39c469f4873ad08aa65e0e71582](https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/Create-copper-area-inside-another-inner-first-is-OK-but-outer-first-fails-with-no-warnings-0506e39c469f4873ad08aa65e0e71582) Copper Areas may need to be added as the design progresses. I think it is unreasonable to expect the user to have to plan so far ahead in a design in order to always be able to create copper areas in any position on the PCB in just the right sequence.

andyfierman: But this issue is exactly what the copper area manager is for.

@tobalt, The useage of the copper area manager to set up multiple overlapping and enclosed areas is OK but there need to be better DRC warnings that regions may not have not been filled as the user might expect. :)

Thanks Tobalt! Changing the order of the 2 areas in the Copper Area Manager is all I needed to do. Things are now exactly as I had wanted.
