I have read, in these pages, that some characters are not allowed (or can cause problems) in titles and descriptions. Some, more worryingly, may be allowed but are not reliable. These are the ( space ), ( <' ), ( > ), ( - ). So far, I have got away with spaces, but I have discovered one character that is definitely taboo - and that is the quotes character ( " ). I used the ( " ) character to denote inches and it took me several days to figure out it was being converted to code and causing problems. As far as possible I am now sticking to metric and using mm instead. Only on rare occasions will I use ( ins ) BUT DEFINITELY NOT ( " ).
From now on I am sticking with (A to Z ), ( a to z ), ( 0 to 9 ), ( _ ), ( mm ), ( . ).
