What's the correct way to share pins on a symbol/footprint and have them connected electrically?

Hey folks, I have the following symbol/footprint combo: ![Screen Shot 2021-09-16 at 11.08.44 PM.png](//image.easyeda.com/pullimage/ksd4gmYdoPkAvYtiaXDw4qgKdmOIcbSia7ZS8iNP.png) ![Screen Shot 2021-09-16 at 11.08.36 PM.png](//image.easyeda.com/pullimage/NlSM4UTnsrWt4Co6DERcdCqxsHKpz5wMU39lvITo.png) Note that pin `6` is actually many pins. They're connected together on the part themselves, so they don't need to be connected on the footprint. So i need to use as in the following: ![Screen Shot 2021-09-16 at 11.09.01 PM.png](//image.easyeda.com/pullimage/OkKhr68SjbAIwKlDo0bbE2EvxX0y3cbxTO3ujMlx.png) But that leaves me with the following ratlines: ![Screen Shot 2021-09-16 at 11.09.12 PM.png](//image.easyeda.com/pullimage/1sA1soleH0V0njcBAj9kX3e4GD4VJOAipA27pWFd.png) What's the correct way to set that up?

You need to R6 if not convert to PCB

@UserSupport, @bryan_6020, This is a perfect demonstration of why I asked for this feature: [https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/Not-Connected-feature-for-unconnected-pads-in-Footprints-with-multuple-same-numbered-pads-on-PCB-03f61e1a8ed342b7a5be79e0dab765e5](https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/Not-Connected-feature-for-unconnected-pads-in-Footprints-with-multuple-same-numbered-pads-on-PCB-03f61e1a8ed342b7a5be79e0dab765e5)

@UserSupport "You need to R6 if not convert to PCB" what does that even mean? can you reword it or elaborate, please?

Hi what do you want for this issue? I see it is correct, the pads have the same net has ratlines, you need to route them.

@UserSupport, If the symbol showed every pin separately then the Schematic "No Connect" "X" symbol could be placed on each pin that the user wishes to leave floating. That would solve the problem of leaving the pads unconnected in the in the PCB. In this symbol however, there is only one pin 6 that represents several pads on the Footprint, which is ok and a tidy way to represent the part. There may be cases where the user only needs to connect to one of the multiple internally connected pads and with symbols like this, my suggestion for a PCB "No Connect" tool would solve the problem in the PCB.

@andyfierman symbol doesn't support the pin number duplicated, it will make the network shorted if two differrent net connect with these pins.

@UserSupport, I understand that. My proposal does not require duplicate numbered pins on the symbol. It only asks for something that identifies selected pads with duplicated numbers on a Footprint as not connected in the PCB Editor.
