Why do my symbol pins get reversed on the PCB?

I just started using EasyEDA yesterday and i have a very basic question. I have a created a trivial schematic to try to understand what is going on. ![image.png](//image.easyeda.com/pullimage/Zd5mExrck2TWjyPgg6JCKnlnSfsDBPHalrcl5R1F.png) When I convert the schematic to a PCB, the pins for U1 get reversed: GND is now on the right, R1 is connected on the left. But the pins for the WEMOS do NOT get reversed. ![image.png](//image.easyeda.com/pullimage/gecLNttSTrazEn2hF7Hyb53X4KqgZIXFP6Fzmjxv.png) How is this happening? How do I fix it? Thanks! Len

Schematic symbols do not need to represent the physical package. In fact in EDA tools they usually do not. To understand this you need to read (2.2) in (2) in: [https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/How-to-ask-for-help-and-get-an-answer-71b17a40d15442349eaecbfae083e46a](https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/How-to-ask-for-help-and-get-an-answer-71b17a40d15442349eaecbfae083e46a)

@andyfierman I agree, but the footprint needs to match the physical package, does it not? If I had this board made, I would need to mount U1 on the bottom to get the pins to match. That's the problem. For a newbie like me, this is very confusing.

"footprint needs to match the physical package, does it not?" Correct. "If I had this board made, I would need to mount U1 on the bottom to get the pins to match." That may be the case but you did not explain well enough or provide any supporting information, such as a device datasheet or a link to the exact footprint that you have chosen, to illustrate that this was the issue. It is unfair to expect others of whom you are asking for help to go through your post with a fine toothed comb in order to try to work out exactly what your question is really about. It is quite possible that you have selected a footprint that was designed so that the module can be mounted upside down on the bottom of the PCB like this: [https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/Arduino-MEGA-Shield-Project-703d187346e74833af8114b2f6aa423e](https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/Arduino-MEGA-Shield-Project-703d187346e74833af8114b2f6aa423e)

"...but you did not explain well enough or provide any supporting information,..." I'm sorry that I am such an ignorant newbie that I didn't realize all of the information that I needed to provide upfront. I'm accustomed to forums where the experts ask questions to help clarify the problem. "It is quite possible that you have selected a footprint that was designed so that the module can be mounted upside down on the bottom of the PCB..." This was helpful. Thanks!
