Why does this part have two footprints?

Hi all! I'm using this EG2X-GL multi-part: ![Screenshot 2023-06-01 at 3.19.31 PM.png](// in my schematic i have both symbol parts: ![Screenshot 2023-06-01 at 3.20.23 PM.png](// but when i new'd up a PCB, it added two footprints for it: ![Screenshot 2023-06-01 at 3.21.24 PM.png](// i'm not sure what i've done wrong in the symbol creation. each sub part has to have a footprint associated with it, so it can align the pins in each sub part to the footprint: ![Screenshot 2023-06-01 at 3.22.13 PM.png](// ![Screenshot 2023-06-01 at 3.23.08 PM.png](// I thought maybe i needed to remove it from the main symbol (EG2X-GL as opposed to EG2X-GL.1/.2) but then i got errors. what am i doing wrong here? Thanks!

Hi Bryan, I'm not sure how you've created the two part symbol but the root of the problem is that, in your schematic, one half of the symbol is prefixed as U2.1 but the other is prefixed as U8.2. Simply changing U8.2 to U2.2 will solve the immediate problem but you need to find out why the second sub-part got the wrong prefix. Have you already somehow got a U2.2 somewhere already in the schematic?

Sweet! That fixed it. no idea how it happened. There's no other u2.2.

oh, i know what happened. i copied it in from another design, and i think it's an easyeda bug. it renumbered one of the symbols and not the other.
