connector on bottom side of PCB

``` Hi, I am designing a PCB in EasyEDA that has a 2X20 ribbon cable connector and few other components. I want to assemble the ribbon cable connector on the PCB on the bottom, while the other components are on top. I was wondering how to show that in the PCB design? since most software's are only rotating the components in 2-D, I cant reverse the direction of mounting to make the connections to the other components. How to reflect the connector (like a mirror reflection orientation) on the 2-D design of the PCB. Should I reverse the connections in the PCB design since its going to be assembled from the other direction (the bottom) or is there a better way (or software) to design the PCB correctly with that design in mind from the first place? I hope my request is clear. :) Thank you. ```
Start by creating a properly constructed schematic then do  Convert to PCB... That will pull in all the correct PCB Footprints and connect them up correctly according to the schematic. Then as you move footprints around in the PCB layout, you can select which of the Top or Bottom side of the pcb to put them on (select the footprint then select the layer in the right hand panel). You do not have to worry about messing with the pin numbers or ordering other that to maybe swap pins to make routing easier if you want. Do this in the schematic then do Update PCB... from the schematic or Import changes in the PCB Editor. Do not edit them in the PCB directly. The tutorial will tell you how to swap footprints between top and bottom. If you haven't already then please read (2.2), (4) and (6) in: [https://easyeda\.com/andyfierman/Welcome\_to\_EasyEDA\-31e1288f882e49e582699b8eb7fe9b1f](https://easyeda.com/andyfierman/Welcome_to_EasyEDA-31e1288f882e49e582699b8eb7fe9b1f)  Reply
Hi, Thanks for replying. I have designed the schematic and layed out the PCB. Right now, I have all the components on the top layer. If I understand you correctly, you are saying that I should select the footprint of the connector and place it on the bottom layer and that shall reflect in the design of the PCB that it will be assembled from the bottom side. Correct? Hence the routing will be correct (doing the autorouter), and I don't have to worry about the physical orientation of the pins (pin holes) since it adheres that it will be assembled from the bottom side of the PCB. I have attached the PCB and schematic design to this reply, I hope it helps in assuring what I do.
