To get a copper area to fill, you have to assign it the same net name as the net that you want it to connect to. Although EasyEDA automatically assigns netnames, it is easiest if you manually assign netnames to all your nets. Then it is a trivial matter to assign the required netname to a copper area. Good question! Here's what you do: 1. Place a schematic symbol for a single through hole pin then create a PCB footprint with pads and hole of the same dimensions as a via, call it something like `my_plane_via`, save it and then assign that PCB footprint to your symbol (You could just place a via in the PCB but then every time you update the PCB from the schematic the via will be deleted); 2. Connect a short net to the connector pin and attach a netlabel to it such as `my_plane_net` (it may work just with the netlabel attached directly to the pin); 3. Update the PCB from the schematic and the via will be imported into the PCB layout; 4. Draw you copper area as normal and assign it to `my_plane_net`; 5. Rebuild the copper area; 6. Done.
