After add the copper area in my pcb, a question came out. Why some areas where not filled? Public project link: [https://easyeda\.com/pangoro24/rpi\_gpio\_expansionboard](https://easyeda.com/pangoro24/rpi_gpio_expansionboard) ![ground plane question.jpg](//image.easyeda.com/pullimage/WFrg4MpW57dV4BakT0agu8bCJmEoNChNiRw13eFq.png)

If there is no pad or track with the same netname as that assigned to the Copper Area and there is not enough clearance for the copper flood to make a copper connection through the gap then some areas will stay empty. If you select Keep islands = Yes: ![image.png](//image.easyeda.com/pullimage/SJj0njW96HHiqcAkvJNRy0Iix9G4ZgZTJRwiE5DG.png) then the voids will fill but leaving areas of unconnected copper is not recommended as it can cause problems with crosstalk and EMC.
