Hi all, hoping someone can help, ive used easyeda for a while but still class myself as a beginner, im in the process of creating a pcb, a form of keyboard, which uses touch keys instead of press keys, and i have it layed out with text letters, how do i change them letters or make them letters copper, and expose them so that they can be touched to create the desired effect, i noticed you can expose the copper on tracks, and such, but there is no option for the text.. any ideas. please cheers keith

Are you wanting the copper text to activate some function by: 1. resistive (via a finger bridging between the text copper and some other nearby or interleaved exposed copper) or; 2. capacitive (via mains hum and other signal pickup from a finger touching but insulated from the copper text); touch? If resistive then exposing the copper is what you want to do but you should probably ask for ENIG PCB finish as HASL will quickly corrode with finger contact. If capacitive then you do not want to expose the copper text anyway so the problem goes away. The easiest way to expose the copper in Top (or Bottom) Layer text is to place the desired text onto the Top (or Bottom) Layer and then copy it onto the Top (or Bottom) Solder Mask Layer and: * increase the line width and height a little; * place it exactly over the original text on the copper layer. You will however have two problems. 1. The text cannot be assigned a net name so you will get DRC errors for every connection to it; 2. Each letter is unconnected to the others. I'm not certain that you can assign netlabels this way but you could try to create the text in an external tool and then import it using Andreas Bernhofer's svg import extension in: [https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/Extension-User-Extensions-for-EasyEDA-Summary-9e065b68316f4491a3911dc6204be31e](https://easyeda.com/forum/topic/Extension-User-Extensions-for-EasyEDA-Summary-9e065b68316f4491a3911dc6204be31e)

or maybe the labelmaker extension. Another possibility is to create the required text using tracks and then expose them or convert them to Pads to expose them. If you reuse them a lot you could make and save a dedicated set of Footprints. In any of these last cases, you can assign a net name and so avoid RC errors.
