It would be nice if there would be either a global/project preference or drop-down menu to quickly change the footprint size.
A lot of components have a standardized footprints with different pad size options so it shouldn't be a problem to add quick access (compared to footprint manager -> search the component in question -> search for the footprint -> update) which allows swapping the footprint on the PCB or schematic directly.
