You can use CAD Assistant to open it and save it as STEP file.

Is there any plan to support exporting as a step file?  To be able to import these circuit boards into Inventor and SolidWorks would be amazing. While I am dreaming of features: would it be possible to have a part that has a schematic symbol, a footprint and an associated 3D model all at the same time?  This leads back to my first question - I would love to be able to model my own components and import them in native Step file format into the 3D Modeling manager.  Step is the way to go.  WRL is not so easily worked with.  Thanks for any feedback.
