If you need a special pad shape or dimensions then create a PCB footprint with the pad shape and dimensions that you need then save it with a unique name.
Then place a single pin connector in the schematic and change the package attribute of the schematic symbol to that of the pad you have just made.
If you think you might want to use this symbol/pad combination again then you can clone the single pin connector symbol, change the package attribute of the clone schematic symbol to that of the pad you have just made, then save this symbol with the same name as the pad you created.
That way, when you place the symbol in the schematic, it will automatically pull in the correct footprint into the PCB.
