on the EasyEDA schematic microchip components, listed in the libraries, the pins are not lined up by the physical placement of the pins on the actual microchip. So if I attach the wires on the schematic exactly where they go to other components will they line up properly on the PCB layout?

They should but you **must** check. To do this, place the schematic symbol into a schematic sheet. Select the symbol. In the right hand panel, click on the **Package** attribute. In the Footprint Manager window that opens, you can then check that the pins on the schematic symbol have been mapped onto the correct pads on the PCB Footprint. If it's not right then you have two options: Option (A): Fix it in the schematic, as shown in the video below: 1. First get the component datasheet out for reference. 2. Go to the schematic. 3. Select the switch symbol. 4. Click on the package attribute in the right hand panel. 5. Swap the Component pin numbers about until they match the PCB footprint. ![pin_swap.gif](https://image.easyeda.com/pullimage/gppgKhH0ptw51tEKgW0CXYFhVHkUxZ5Pe3F4RLah.gif) However, Option (A) leaves the part in the library broken so everyone else will have the same problem. It would be much better to permanently fix whichever is wrong out of the symbol and/or the PCB footprint in the library so that no-one else can pick up your wrong part from the library. Option (B): The permanent fix: 1. First get the component datasheet out for reference. 2. Then, in the Search Libraries tool, search for, select and then Edit whichever of the symbol and/or the PCB footprint you need to edit, in the appropriate Schematic Lib Editor or PCB Lib Editor. 3. Redefine the pin numbers in whichever of the symbol and/or the PCB footprint you need to fix, then Save them. 4. If you changed the Schematic Symbol, then **Update** the symbol in the schematic: ![image.png](https://image.easyeda.com/pullimage/rSCC7bbVTsxCRRrN1DwGdMHwJRUcLSpPMBqQQwjm.png) 1. If you changed the PCB Footprint then do **Update PCB...** to bring the new PCB footprint into the PCB.
