So I have seen before and had an idea of using SMD soldering pads close to each other as "jumpers" (see image). Meaning that I just put a small dab of solder on these two pads and that is the jumper.
I did a testrun of PCBs and when I tried to solder them together, I had to slab on soooo much solder for them to connect. The pads seem to be very well Isolated from each other and this is ofcourse a very good thing usually so no shorts will happen by mistake. But in my use case I WANT them to "short"...
Could I resolve this by changing the soldermask, so the area inbetween the pads are within the masking, and that would somehow make it easier for the solder paste to "stick"?
I would just like some ideas before I fix/try and order a new batch...
Thanks in advance,
