A via placed in a solid region does not automatically have its net set to the net of the solid region. The via will have the same net as the via which most recently had the net changed manually, or to no net at all if no net of via has been changed. A via placed in a track has the net of the via automatically set to the net of the track. The same thing should happen when a via is placed in a solid region.
